On November 25, 2019, our volunteers went to Eleshnitsa for the first time to spend the entire afternoon with children and adults. We divided the afternoon into three parts: For starters we were with 1st and 2nd grade children, with whom we did a dance with songs in English and then we taught them how to make paper planes, to end with a contest, where we awarded the most beautiful, the fastest and the more original and creative and the winners received a diploma.
Then, for 7th, 8th and 9th grade, as many children expected, we prepared 4 different activities, placed in the 4 corners of the room so that they could rotate. The games were: holograms, Pictionary, identities and mime. More than 30 children came, whom we divided into 4 equal groups. Each volunteer was in charge of a game, the children were rotating from table to table with great enthusiasm. All the activities were prepared and explained in English, so that they were learning basic vocabulary, which made understanding a little difficult, but in the end we understood each other very well! Last but not least, we started with the English classes for adults, to which more than 20 people came, in which they told us what they were most interested in learning, and our partner Elena began to explain some basic vocabulary as an introduction (numbers, colors...).
Although we ended up very tired during this long afternoon, our sensations were very good, and we believe that theirs too.
