Summer Youth Academy is going on with a lot of enthusiasm from our volunteers from “Community of Open Learners” project (COOL) of the organization “International Initiatives for Cooperation” (IIC).
Every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 10:00 to 12:00, kids join our volunteers at Razlog central park to play funny and educational activities.
One month has already passed, but the volunteers have collected a lot of nice memories and have learned a lot from this experience.
Games as “human knot”, in which the children have to work together to solve the knot they made with their hands, or “dress the scarecrow”, where the participants have to dress up with old clothes in a relay race, helped the kids to increase their team-building and problem solving skills. On the other hand, crafting activities such as painting pine-cones, making pencil cases from tetrapack, and making piggy banks from plastic bottles, increased their creativity and artistic skills.
The Summer Youth Academy will go on for the whole summer and the volunteers are unceasingly working at new ideas and activities for the kids, to have fun and learn together.
