On Saturday, September 14th, Bulgaria participated to second edition of World Clean-up Day, that is part of a worldwide campaign which ended in Hawaii last Saturday, September 21st.
One more time, our organization "International Initiatives for Cooperation" actively participate to this campaign. The IIC staff and all the volunteers from "Community of Open Learners" and "Volunteering 4 Change" projects cleaned the hill of Golak, situated in the town of Razlog.
Some teenagers from the local community joined the team. All together, they collected more than 20 bags of rubbish. The municipality of Razlog supported them with the necessary materials and tools.
It was a very rewarding experience for all the participants, as it enhanced their team building and made them become more aware about the importance of small actions in order to protect our planet.
After cleaning the beautiful hill of Golak, the staff organized a pic-nic with food and drinks to relax. In the evening, the IIC team organized a documentary screening in their office.
