The world needs adventurous people. This Friday, before celebrating night of museum we -IIC, created an adventure park for kids. If you are familiar with Indiana Jones, be sure that the legacy is ready in Razlog. The treasures of Razlog museum are safe and sound ;).
How to create an ephemeral adventure park without spending a lot of money:
First, you need a lot of solid wires or threads to create a game that simulates infrared lasers. If the child touches the wire, the alarm ring and he has to start again.
For the second stage you need chalks to simulate a deep lake. The only way to cross it is to jump on the floating leaves. If you fall in the water, start again.
Third activity: pass through the hoops without touching edges of them. The more you have the best it is. Place them however you want. If one touches them start the activity again.
Fourth/fifth step: Jump on the right foot to; fifth step then jump on the left foot to sixth step.
Sixth step: turn 10 times around a stick to get a little dizzy then reach the last step. You can put obstacles on the way.
Last step: They have to follow a line with holes they should jump over with the balloon full of water stuck between their chin and chest.
At the end, give them a cookie and an adventurous certificate. This is the recipe for a wonderful sunny afternoon with the kid of the town. After burning some energy, they are relaxed and can enjoyed peacefully the opening ceremony of night of the museums.
This day was under the sign of cooperation
This amazing day was the theatre of multiple cooperation. This action we made with all IIC team has multiple unexpected results. First of all, we didn't expect that amount of child and we were surprised to see that we were able to handle it great. This success is based I think on the first interaction we had with the children this day. In fact, a little team of 5 child tested and played our game all the afternoon before the official begining at 4. Then , during all the activity they commited a lot, explaining the others children. Like this, language barrier was overtook and a lot of energy was saved. They also tought us some usefull words in Bulgarian. This moment was the very definition of cooperation and the positiv effect of it. Children cooperate with us to explain their friends. Of course, action will never had happened without museum asking us to plan something. So we can see here that two organisation can cooperate to create memorables moments for kids and workers. Then, all the team of IIC was really comited to the project. Everybody has a tasks in the construction part and as facilitator all around the course. We can also consider this game as a team building activity.
This activity was also the starting point of COOL collaboration with the museum during upcoming summer. In fact, we will be every day in the yard of the museum during the summer period. We are going to work with some children of Razlog. Creative activity, fun games like our Adventure Park and sensitization to important topics through non-formal education are planned. It will be a busy period for us and you will hear a lot about our work and activities. It might be a chance for you to find new tools in our workshops. It is also a chance for us to progress through constructive critics so don't hesitate.
