Did you know that you can craft plenty of useful things with your used plastic bottles?
Have you ever imagined that giving new life to a waste material could be fun?
Our volunteers from “Community of Open Learners” project (COOL), run by the organization “International Initiatives for Cooperation” (IIC), discovered few weeks ago that they can craft nice piggy banks out of plastic bottles: those, apart from being very cute, are also useful to save money!
The process is very easy, you just take a plastic bottle (big or small one), cut the front and the back part and stick them with glue. Then, you'll just have to use your creativity to decorate it: you only need coloured paper, markers, glue, scissors and cutters. You can craft the pig's ears, the nose, his eyes, and even a cute tail!

They proposed this activity during the Summer Youth Academy, and the kids enjoyed it a lot: they spent the morning creating their own cute piggy bank. The process was not easy for them, as they needed a lot of precision and had to use cutters and scissors, but with the help of our volunteers they all managed to craft beautiful pigs.
Next time you are about to throw a plastic bottle, think about the alternative use you can do with it, and the new life you can give to it. You can make someone's life happier with a very simple action.
