Again the office of “International Initiatives for Cooperation” (IIC), Razlog opened the doors to welcome people for a cultural exchange, the German Night. Young and old, locals and internationals, they all came together to learn more about Germany.
The night started with a presentation about Germany’s history and traditions. They introduced to us additionally important Germans, sightseeing spots and their home towns.
As soon as the presentation was finished all guests got the chance to get to know how Germany tastes like. Our Germans put a lot of effort to fill the tables with traditional food, snacks and drinks. You could taste Bavarian pretzel with butter, grey bread with German ham and prickles or radish and vegan potato salad a la grandma.
For people with sweet teeth, they served Herrencreme (vanilla-choco cream) Berliner (sweet dough filled with jam) and, of course, Kinder chocolate. As drinks they offered apple juice, egg liquor and German beer.
In addition the visitors had nice German background music, which the volunteers chose before. The mix of music contained all kind of genres, for example Kontra K (hip-hop), Sarah Connor (pop) and Scorpions (rock).
Finally the night was successful. The people talked and laughed. They learned and enjoyed. And everyone left the office with a full stomach.
We are looking forward for more cultural nights.
