During a whole week all the International Initiatives for Cooperation ( IIC) volunteers worked hard organizing the experiments of Thursday, August 9th’s Science Show.
We prepared the materials, made tests and drew funny illustrations for children. While preparing all the stuff we were more excited than the children with all these magic holograms, we spent about one hour sitting in the dark office watching them! Amazing!
We made 7 experiments which were connected with the basics of chemistry and physics, we explained to the children why everything was working that way, why all this “magic” was happening. At the end, we asked them to make their own experiments. So, after all the science show, we just had fun making different colour jellies with sparkles.
We spent a great day together, educated each other and broadened our knowledge on science. The children’s eyes sparkled with amazement while they were watching the experiments, asking questions and making their own experiments. It was wonderful to see them so excited and interested in this science show,
Every new Summer academy day, we meet more and more children. All of them are very different but similar at the same time. They come to us with their own backgrounds but thanks to the games, brainstorming and workshops, they try to understand each other, work together and be united.
