As the new academic year started, volunteers from "Community of Open Learners" and "Volunteering 4 Change" projects, members of the "International Initiatives for Cooperation" – IIC organization, started to go again to the “Yane Sandanski” primary school in Razlog, to implement non-formal education activities for the kids.
Such activities concern many topics - science, recycling, international communication, healthy lifestyles, music and dance, art – and are developed by means of crafting, games and educational activities, with the aim of increasing kids' soft skills (such as communication, team-working, tolerance, respect, critical thinking and creativity).
So far, it's been two weeks since volunteers started to go to the school. During the first week, they made some team-building and ice-breaking activities, in order to get to know the children. Then, as Halloween was about to come, they performed some crafting activities related to this celebration. Kids really enjoyed the crafting (you can see some examples in the picture).
During this week, volunteers are performing some catchy and interesting science experiments, in order to improve kids' curiosity towards simple scientific phenomena and, of course, to make them enjoy and have fun!
